As the Founder and CEO of the Non-Profit 501c3 organization Mosaic Foundation, Dr. Derrell Jackson serves as a consultant to community based grass root organizations. He currently works with executives, professionals and business owners to improve their life and work performance. He does this by providing capacity building services to organization on Macro and Meso levels of business. He provides organizational training, development training, leadership and job readiness training to philanthropic foundations in the business communities; that work with underserved populations from low- and moderate-income families. In addition, Dr. Jackson works as a consultant for Flint Odyssey House, Inc., providing services such as executive coaching, grant writing, program development, capital campaigning, and program design.
Dr. Jackson has over 18 years of business experience as a consultant and trainer. He has served as a consultant in various capacities, where he demonstrates his ability to assess complex situations and identify appropriate solutions, which underscores his ability to gain meaningful insight and follow up with thorough analysis.
He has a Doctorate of Education in Educational Leadership, Masters of Science in Mental Health Counseling, and Bachelor of Science in Social Work and Gerontology. He is a licensed professional counselor, national certified counselor, and board certified professional counselor. His expertise and experience consist of the following service areas: Program development, United Way Affiliate in substance abuse and housing, community activist, research and development.
Dr. Jackson has developed a community collaborative with Fulton County’s Youth and Adolescent Services Teen Dad’s Program and Workforce Development Job Readiness Program, DeKalb County’s Community Service Board community counseling and immigration transition services, and Clayton County teen pregnancy grant and leadership program.
In October 24-26, 2011 in Arlington, VA., Dr. Jackson was the key note speaker for the Office of Women’s Health. His professional affiliations include the America Counseling Association, Kappa Delta Pi and Phi Alpha Honor Society, and Phi Beta Sigma Inc.
Dr. Jackson has contributed to clinical best practices and cutting edge research in the area of behavioral health, and addiction. During the past 18 years his publications areas have focused on: victims of domestic violence, violence in rural schools with urban characteristics, youth and criminal behavior linked to addiction, ethics for counselors, poverty and its influence on addiction and criminality with Black families.
Dr. Jackson is Lean Six Sigma Certified, in Industrial Engineering, and Senior Project Management, and has served in the capacity as an Executive coach with Mezzo and Macro Organizations for 15 years.
